Usually when I start a new piece, the lettering concept comes first - and after that, I pick any wall that’s available… but this one was a bit different.
After I came across this spot on my bike, I thought it could be cool to incorporate the surrounding landscape into the artwork. This was something I hadn’t really tried before, but the spot was too perfect - and it drove the inspiration behind what you’re seeing here.
This led me to throw on the waders so I could start to rummage around in the river, while every so often I’d have to reach underwater to clear out rocks and secure my ladder. This piece was a grind and the spot provided challenges I hadn’t previously been faced with, but it was super satisfying to see it through.
